Unpredictability of results, glare, halos, reduced contrast sensitivity, decreased scotopic vision and aggravation of aberrations are some of the limitations of conventional Lasik. It is now possible to detect and measure aberrations in the optical system of the eye by wavefront analysis.
A highly collimated beam of light is thrown on the retina, the reflected beam suffer deviations due to aberrations. The deformation caused to this wavefront is measured and analysed by an instrument called aberrometer.
